African Bank - New shady spots for growing young minds

In a few months the Nokhupila Primary School learners will enjoy the shady cover of 45  new trees that were planted by African Bank at the school on 23 September to celebrate Arbour Month.

Devendri Adari, Environmental and Sustainability Officer at African Bank, says the variety of trees selected grow wonderfully in the area, are indigenous and don’t need a lot of water to grow – perfect for these water restricted times. “African Bank has always had a green conscious and Arbour Day is one of our annual events. We are more than just a Bank. We care about people, the environment and we are living our brand purpose of Humanity through banking. Our message to these young people is that we need to take care of the planet, because we only have one. Every small little action adds up to make a huge difference, so do your bit and help make the world a better place,” she says.
