Coca Cola Shanduka Beverages (CCSB) continues with its “Live for a Difference” initiative. The Campaign “Live for a difference” is CCSB’s commitment to make a positive difference in the communities it serves by redesigning the way the company works and lives so that sustainability is part of everything it does.
CCSB is committed to become the change and asked their employees to
volunteer and BECOME THE CHANGE by participating with Food & Trees
for Africa (www.trees.co.za) in developing a permaculture food garden
for the Leratong Springs Community Food Garden at the Methodist Church
in participation with four other NGO’s within Springs and the
surrounding townships. This will see volunteers from CCSB, with the
staff and residents from the NGO’s prepare the soil and plant an array
of vegetables.
The employees of Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages (CCSB) will be giving their time and labour on Saturday 14 May 2011 to promote through this initiative social development and raise awareness in these communites about the importance of good healthy nutritious food, and would like to invite the members of the media and other community members to join CCSB on this day.
CCSB regards home gardens as one of the essential mechanisms in eradicating poverty and empowering communities, and wishes that the sustainability of this project will play an important role in encouraging and motivating the people in these communities to consider planting their own gardens and empowering themselves.
