The recycle, reuse and reduce competition at Mthombeni Primary School in Mhluzi, Middelburg has reached boiling point. On Friday September the 2nd, winners were awarded with prizes from Coca-Cola.

The environmentally friendly competition is facilitated by Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages in an effort to encourage pupils to view recycling as being cool. The Coca-Cola Shanduka Beverages recycling programme at Mthombeni started last year.  
To mark the National Arbor Day, CCSB planted a tree, in partnership with Food & Trees for Africa, at the school with the aim to inspire the community of Mhluzi to plant and celebrate trees. The importance of trees in maintaining a balanced environment cannot be overemphasised.
