Thanks to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands the verdant food gardening project at Lugedlane Primary School in Mpumalanga Province is producing not only vegetables, but a new generation of enthusiastic and knowledgeable young gardeners.
Situated in Mangweni, an area of extreme poverty and hardship, the immense impact this garden has had on the community is inspiring. The project provides necessary skills, knowledge, information and has had the added benefit of instilling the love of nature in these young learners. It is also contributing towards poverty alleviation, job creation, improving the school environment through greening activities and supplementing the feeding scheme at school. Project members are extremely proud of their achievement through the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and FTFA.
