The plant situated in Olifantsfontein in the Gauteng Province, was established on the 1st of January 2002.

The Olifantsfontein site presently manufactures a complete range of monolithic refractories which include castables, gunning materials, mortars, plastic rammables, Blast Furnace taphole products and slag conditioning doloma as well as cured, fired and resin-bonded refractory bricks.

Complementing these activities, the company represents numerous overseas principals both in the refractories, plant and technology fields.

We know that we operate in a sector that might have a significant impact on the environment and therefore we strive to operate in an environmental responsible manner and are committed to conserving natural resources and complying with all applicable Environmental legislation and implementing company standards, programmes and processes to achieve greater protection against risks.

In conjunction with Food & Trees for Africa Vesuvius celebrated Arbor month by planting 26 trees to offset the paper consumption for two and a half years on the Olifantsfontein site. By planting trees Vesuvius South Africa is contributing     to a greener life and creating awareness on the importance of a greener future
