KMSA and FTFA, Greening Rustenburg with 1,072 Trees
This forms part of a donation of 1,072 trees to a total of 36 schools in the Rustenburg area by KMSA. These 1,072 trees will offset 395 tonnes of carbon dioxide in their lifetime, whilst providing shade, increasing biodiversity and access to fresh fruit for the local community. These gifts will keep on giving to the local community and the local environment for upward of 40 years.
“It's wonderful to work with such an enthusiastic school, that clearly appreciate the value of trees,” says Emily Jones, of Food & Trees for Africa, “KMSA staff volunteers were very enthusiastic in helping to plant out as many trees as possible and should be congratulated for their efforts.”
This tree planting forms part of KMSA’s commitment to plant 2,993 trees between January and June 2018 and brings the number of trees donated by KMSA to 37,796 since 2008, through the company’s ongoing commitment to ‘green’ South Africa.
