Long Term Food Gardens with Tiger Brands

10 short-term food garden projects supported by Tiger Brands and Food and Trees for Africa have come to an end. We are happy with their progress, which will see their gardens go through the winter. We have encouraged the gardeners to apply for further further support.

On the other hand, the 7 long-term projects are still continuing and are seeing infrastructure improvements.

Food & Trees for Africa and partners join hands for Arbor Month celebrations

Started by J. Sterling Morton, Arbor Day has become an annual celebration commemorated by countries all over the world with tree planting events. In South Africa, Arbor Day was first celebrated in 1983. Since then, South Africans have embraced the concept and so Arbor Day was extended to Arbor week. At Food & Trees for Africa (FTFA), South Africa’s greening organisation, we celebrate Arbor month, every month!

Konica Minolta South Africa employs good practice for environment and the economy

FTFA Ecopreneur, Jeminah Mkhize, and Trees for All Administrator, Pat Anderson, took to the road for the first of this years` Konica Minolta South Africa tree planting events.

They arrived, together with Konica Minolta South Africa Nelspruit branch manager, Gerhard van Tonder and team,  at Nelspruit Primary School, site of the first event, and immediately felt welcome in the well-tended school grounds.
